Greetings and salutations!
Today is the official release day of Detecting Magic with Dick Hunter: The Demonic Dozen. I'm excited to publish this book, the second installment in the Detecting Magic with Dick Hunter series.
Funny story: when I wrote the first book, The Mort des Hommes Files, I had no intention of turning it into a series, even with its "to be continued" ending. It was done as a joke/satirical take on the paranormal/urban fantasy genre. But thanks to readers asking for more Dick Hunter, I wrote The Demonic Dozen and started a short story side-series called Jinn Tales (about the origins of the jinn that Dick encounters).
Although The Demonic Dozen deals with more serious issues than the first book (such as racism and New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina), the book maintains the humorous slant from the previous title and continues to poke fun at genre conventions. I think it's a great follow-up to The Mort des Hommes Files and I hope you enjoy reading it as I had writing it.

*Bonus: There's also a book blog tour for the books in the Detecting Magic with Dick Hunter series. I've been posting tour links weekly. Check them out for info on the giveaway, where you can win print copies of both books! Updates are here and here.
